𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐈 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐆 - 𝐁𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 & 𝐂𝐨
I have done a blog on Levi before that can be found in the pinned section, however it’s a few years old now so thought I’d do an up to date one as there are new additions to Levi now!
(I also have many others on other resorts in pinned section or feel free to ask)
Being a Lapland specialist,( Rated one of the top 10 in the UK may I proudly add ) I am very lucky and get to go out to Lapland every year. This helps me to keep up to date, and also experience all packages and resorts. I have done nearly every resort and all packages so can help find your perfect dream trip. I do also have blogs on other resorts, and a resort help guide to help explain the differences between resorts. Do ask if you would like any of them sending.
This is my 7th time to Levi over the years, and an absolute favourite of mine.
I love that it has so much to do and offer, but yet is still magical and beautiful.
It’s only a lovely 25 minute transfer from the airport, which is always a bonus, especially with kids.
It’s quite far north so northern lights chances are very good.
It has lots of excursions on offer, and lots of companies, so it’s easier to always add any extras in resort if you wish. ( For peak times I would still recommend booking in advance)
I have just booked reindeer for two days time and was ok doing so but I’m going early season ( 30th November).
There’s also some menus, price lists for various things in photos that may help too.
What there is to do
Kids land- This seems to open around 2nd week of December ( usually around the 7th) it’s a free area that is fab for sledging and tobogganing. In previous years it had had a little kids ski lift to help the kids up with sledges too, although not confirmed for this year as it’s not open.
It also has a lovely wooden hut with a fire and serving berry juice.
It’s a must visit for everyone if it’s open on your visit.
Arcandia- I was very lucky to visit Arcandia last year, and was absolutely wowed. It’s such a unique, special place.
The owner is incredible, helpful and just puts her heart and soul into it and making it perfect and everyone happy.
I told her I wished the tour ops used it so I could book people and she told me ‘ I don’t as then it would be too busy. I’d rather customers be happy.’
Customer happiness over profit for her and this is what makes her and Arcandia so amazing, she truly cares and deserves all the success in the world.
You can see Santa here who is up there with one of the best Santas of all time, but if you already have Santa included, it’s definitely still worth a visit.
They do various packages which you can book here including seeing Santa, dinner packages, and more.
I am going again this time and doing park side.
There’s lots of activities to do and is perfect for all ages from young to teen.
Young children will love all the pretty lights and lots to look at.
There’s many activities to do, snowmobiling for kids, archery, axe throwing, human snow balls, laser tag & much more.
They have just started a new magician show too which we were lucky enough to see and it was mesmerising.
My 3 year old doesn’t sit still or quite very long but he did for this!
It’s very mystical, unique and entertaining.
It’s a magic show with an Arcandian twist.
It had such a calming aura to it and was just such a great experience.
To get here from Levi you can either speak to Arcandia to arrange their transfer or book a taxi. I use the app Menevä Taksi and is about £30 each way.
Sammi museum - Levi Sumit
A lovely museum located next to Levi panorama. A lovely cafe with beautiful views also inside
Elves hideaway
Many of you will be seeing Santa here within your package, and again, you’re in for a treat! He’s incredible and such an amazing Santa.
If you have Santa booked elsewhere, again it’s still worth visiting. You can pay for just entrance for €20 each and you can explore at your own pace. It’s beautiful. Very narnia like with little huts to explore.
There’s reindeer to see.
One of the buildings you can visit has a unique slide and things in side that kids love.
There’s sledging and snow tubing, and if you’re lucky you may even see Santas elves running round!
If you decide to visit here and don’t have it included, you can also use the free bus that goes from Levi and returns. It’s really cute actually!
Reindeer feeding at K5 hotel
The beautiful K5 hotel has a reindeer pen out the back, you can purchase a bag of moss from reception of the hotel and go feed them.
Hot chocolate/coffee and sausages on a fire by Campfire Barrister
This is located near zero point and is an outside coffee barrister. It’s really lovely.
A nice log fire to roast marshmallows and sausages on that you purchase there.
Not the cheapest, but lovely experience.
Swimming at Levi spa
You don’t have to stay here to use the pool. You can pay to visit and enjoy the spa waterworld and pools.
There is also an indoor play area that you can pay to use.
Bowling
If you’re wanting to take some time out the snow, there’s a bowling alley in the village Center. It’s not cheap though. Was €60 for one adult 2 children.
Snow tubing/Levilandia
Tubing wasn’t open yet, think it again opens around 2nd week.
But there’s a sledging hill, kids ski area, a game and a lovely indoor play area. We spent a couple of hours here, I got chill time while kids had fun.
You get tickets from zero point. Take the r2 ski bus over to south point.
Glow up mini golf
This was fab. €10 each and is located under hook restaurant over near kidsland.
We were only there about an hour but were only ones in there.
The food in Hook was also very good.
Opens at 4pm most days so nice to have a game then grab something to eat.
Secret hidden cafe
A beautiful little cafe with stunning views. Previous years I didn’t find it, but it’s now sign posted so not that hard to find it is quite steep though, I’m a baby with heights so did struggle a little, but once my daughter pointed out if we fell we’d just go into trees and not fall off the earth, I felt better
Snowmobiles to reindeer farm
I booked these in resort with PerheSafarit
So glad I did. They were amazing and the trip was wonderful. It lasted longer than I thought too. The kids got to go in a lovely warm pod and they loved it. I went on the back with guide as I forgot my licence. Was €105 for me and €65 for the kids.
Gondola
You can take the gondola up to the top of the ski slope, needed for secret cafe anyway so worth doing at same time rather than paying twice.
Where is there to stay -
There are lots of places but I’m going to mention the ones I’ve stayed or been to at so I can recommend.
Crazy reindeer - I have stayed here twice. It’s cosy, clean, comfy and great location.
It has a very ‘Christmas’ feel to it.
The food isn’t the most amazing, but I do tend to find that this is the case in a lot of the hotels. There’s always something to eat and what is there is tasty.
Breakfast is good.
The hotel also has a little plunge pool, not my thing as it’s far too cold, but for anyone that wants a refreshing dip!
The hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from the main Center, supermarket and the snowsuit collection shop.
It’s also only down the road to Kidsland.
And those on Inghams breaks, it’s a minute walk to where you have your festive feast party.
K5 hotel - Beautiful hotel located next to the frozen lake so perfect for northern lights.
Also home to the reindeer that you can feed.
You can also stay in the k5 cabins which are just incredible, these are only available as a 7 night package.
Levi Panorama
This is a beautiful hotel with the most stunning views. It’s located at the top of the ski slope, so perfect for northern lights sightings too! It has the best of both worlds here as it feels so very remote and tranquil, but a quick hop on the gondola and your right in the village.
The breakfast is good with a very good selection. Lovely restaurant too.
The Levi summit next door has a museum in it and a lovely cafe with beautiful views and great cake!
Levi Spa -
Nice 4* hotel in the Center of Levi village.
If you’re booked with certain operators you get access to spa waterworld pools included which is a lovely bonus.
Sirkhantahti - basic but brilliant 3*. Location is great.
I stayed in a duplex room with sauna and it’s very much worth upgrading. It’s closer to the main hotel, loads of space and a lovely sauna.
Breakfast was really good too and the staff were incredible. For service, they hands down won over all the hotels I have stayed in.
They were so helpful and friendly. It made a huge difference to the stay.
Food intolerance - noted they catered for food intolerances for anyone that needs to be sure of this
Levi cottages
I’ve stayed here a couple of times and love them. Cosy little cottages with the inside done just like a log cabin.
Great central location. Lovely sauna inside and a really well equipped kitchen.
I love having the extra space and a kitchen. One of our highlights is to always go to the supermarket and get things for a Christmas dinner, put the festive music on and all cook together!
Immelmoket cabins
Lovely traditional log cabins. Located near k5 hotel. They have a really lovely festive feeling and good space.
Other than K5 cabins, these would be my choice of cabins to stay in.
Levi log cabins
A little further from the Center ( around 10 min walk) but really lovely cabins. I’ve not stayed in these only visited.
Top tips
Download the Aurora app to alert you for northern lights and also an app to ensure you capture them at their best! Also a good app for taking photos is useful.
Take snacks, little squeeze juices and bottles and any food with you. As long as it’s not fresh food. So anything packet or tin basically.
Especially if you have a kitchen in your accommodation.
When travelling back home, try eat or purchase food beforehand as Kittilla airport isn’t the best for food options, and what there is,on past experience, has not been nice and has cost a fortune!
Be prepared to take longer than usual to get out your accommodation. Especially with younger children: getting layers on isn’t a quick or easy job!
You can find sledges outside your hotels or in some accommodations, but we bought one from supermarket for €10 and just kept hold of it. Make sure you do aswell as they do go missing! We took it into restaurants with us and they didn’t mind.
Download the Menevä Taksi app - you can even pre order on it. Just like Uber.
Take things like bubbles, marshmallows etc with you so it saves time hunting them down
Where to eat
Levi has many lovely places but will note down my recommendations below
There’s also some food and menu pictures in the photos.
Pannukakkutalo Levi - Known as the pancake house! Incredible! And not bad priced either. Was one of our cheapest meals
Hook - where glow up golf is. Food and service was very good
Colorado grill - this has always been one of my top places to eat in Levi. I go every time.
Stefans steak house - not cheap but very good food
Renna - a really good Italian. Lovely food. Really good size portions too.
Don’t forget
Advent calendars
Those cheeky elves
EU travel adapter
Snacks
Driving licence if your doing snowmobiles
Don’t take too warm pyjamas as the hotels and accommodations get really warm
Check out our what to pack guide for help on clothing / it’s in the pinned section or message me and I can send you:)
Ensure you check your passport for expiry dates against the government website- I would hate for anyone to not be able to travel!
I hope it helps! If you have any questions at all, do just ask!
